This week Slipstream are unveiling two new personal websites for international sailing stars from different disciplines.
From the solo ocean sailing world, and currently campaigning an Extreme 40, Mike Golding has selected Slipstream to redesign and launch a new website both promoting his current campaigns, and introducing new partners and sponsors for future solo ocean campaigns.
Shirley Robertson is a double Olympic gold medallist, and most recently is a reputable broadcaster, as host of Mainsail, a CNN monthly program devoted to the sailing world. She was also a reporter for the BBC‘s sailing coverage at the 2008 Summer Olympics. The new www.shirleyrobertson.com serves both her broadcast archive, profile and information, as well as an up to date blog of activity, and charity work.
Slipstream identified that the ideal choice of platform for personal athlete websites content management is WordPress. Whilst not constraining the possibilities (as can be see by these two clearly different sites) WordPress offers a lower overall cost of ownership, and fast development cycle, as well as limitless online training and help solutions.
